Credit Union 1 hired Laurie Bennett as its DeBarr branch manager. Bennett has more than eight years of credit union experience. Bennett will direct the Anchorage branch's operations including lending, accurate and timely transactions and ensuring members receive quality service.
Alaska Communications Systems appointed Vivian Tanner to general manager of ACS' interior field operations. She will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations, which include installation and repair, construction, central office and PBX functions. Tanner is a 15-year ACS employee, and brings 26 years of telecom engineering experience to her new position. Prior to her new role, Tanner was the engineering manager in Fairbanks, where she was responsible for the engineering and support related to the ACS statewide local switch network
ReFeathering LLC appointed Julia Worthington Martin as president. Martin has 20 years of experience in decorating, organizing and home staging. She recently completed course work in interior design at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Martin's responsibilities include marketing, project planning and implementation, finance, record keeping and personnel management.
The Pebble Partnership hired John Wood as infrastructure manager. He will be responsible for managing consultants completing primary infrastructure engineering for the Pebble Project Pre-feasibility Study. Wood is a professional mining and civil engineer registered in Alaska. He earned a B.S. in mining engineering and an M.S. in mineral industry management from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Wood previously worked for the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority, where he was a senior project manager with responsibilities for AIDEA's facilities at Red Dog and Skagway. He also discovered, named and performed initial engineering/feasibility work on Usibelli Coal Mine's "Two Bull Ridge" coal mine at Healy.
