The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium board of directors has named Don Kashevaroff chief executive officer. Board members cited his strong leadership skills forged through a wide array of tribal, national and statewide positions. His background includes numerous tribal, corporate and statewide boards, commissions and councils, including the Alaska Native Health Board, the Denali Commission Health Steering Committee and the Governor's Healthcare Strategies Planning Council, as well as national committees on Native health services. Moreover, Kashevaroff has provided 10 years of distinguished service on the consortium board, eight of them as chairman and president.

Richard Wyckoff II of Anchorage has joined the Anchorage office of Bettisworth North Architects and Planners as an intern architect. Wyckoff has six years of experience in architecture, primarily designing health care facilities. Wyckoff received his architecture degree from Oklahoma State University and is currently sitting for the state architectural licensing exams. Bettisworth North has a staff of 24, with offices in Fairbanks and Anchorage.

Jenny Evans was appointed communications director in Mayor Mark Begich's office, replacing Julie Hasquet, who left for the mayor's senatorial campaign in late April. Before joining the mayor's executive staff, Evans was the director of marketing and public relations for The Alaska Club. Her background also includes working as the communications director for Anchorage Economic Development Corp. and as an account supervisor for Bradley/Reid Communications. Evans is a lifelong Alaskan who graduated from Ohio University with bachelor's degrees in English literature and political science.

AT&T Alascom has announced the following promotions and new hires: Renee Cedergreen was recently promoted to account executive, signature clients. Previously, Cedergreeh was field service manager. She has been with the company for 11 years. Amy Merchant recently joined the company as an account executive, signature clients. She will be responsible for health care accounts statewide. She has four years of experience in communications. Judy Sargent was promoted to field services manager. Previously, Sargent was business customer care representative for private line billing and collections. She has been with AT&T for 11 years. Julie Counter was recently promoted to account executive of wholesale markets for AT&T in Alaska. Previously, Counter was private line product manager. She has been with AT&T for 17 years.
