Chicago's Best opens takeout stand

Chicago's Best mobile food kitchen has opened in the Sears mall parking lot at Northern Lights Boulevard and Seward Highway, said John Mayser, president of Chicago's Best.

The stand will open at 11 a.m. weekdays with a menu that includes Chicago hot dogs, Polish sausage, and Italian beef and sausage. Chicago's Best also operates an indoor restaurant on Elmendorf Air Force Base. For more information, call 644-4144.

State reminds fishing crews of labor law

The state Labor Department has issued a reminder that youths under 16 may not work on a fishing boat unless employed by a parent who also owns and operates the boat.

"The last Alaska workplace fatality involving a worker under 16 years old involved commercial fishing. This tragedy could have been avoided by simply following the law," said Grey Mitchell, director of the state Labor Standards and Safety Division.

Directory recognizes 3 Anchorage lawyers

Three attorneys from Perkins Coie's Anchorage law office have been recognized by Chambers & Partners, publishers of "Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business."

Nerland buys stake in Web marketing firm

The Nerland Agency Worldwide Partners in Anchorage has bought a minority stake in Tri-Media, a Welland, Ontario-based integrated marketing technologies firm serving a global clientele, said Rick Nerland, president.

The investment lets the Nerland Agency provide its advertising, marketing and public relations clients with online and digital communications strategy and execution through a proprietary suite of Web technologies and experienced Internet strategy and development professionals.
