APC Services, LLC, an Alaska Native-owned environmental and engineering firm, has hired Sherman Anderson as lead biologist in charge of field operations. Anderson is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in wildlife management and has worked as a wildlife biologist for six years in rural Alaska. His experience includes work with endangered species recovery plans, human/wildlife interactions and marine mammal research.

Peter "Pete" Slaiby has joined the Shell Alaska team as general manager. Pete is a 28-year veteran of Shell, having started his career as a petrophysical field engineer and surveillance engineer in the Gulf of Mexico. He has worked on and managed Shell development projects and producing operations in Syria, Brazil, West Africa and the United Kingdom. In his role as general manger Slaiby will manage Shell's exploration and production activities in Alaska, including Shell's efforts to develop relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
Joanne Phillips has joined the Camp Fire USA Alaska Council leadership team as development director. Phillips brings more than 20 years experience in nonprofit development and philanthropy, most recently as a member of Conoco Phillips' philanthropy and community services department. Her commitment to the agency is based on a passion for ensuring opportunities for all youth and a belief in the important role philanthropy plays in improving the lives of children and families in our community.
Rob Campbell was recently named director of construction and operations, central region, with the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. Campbell recently served as preconstruction engineer for the region. He is now responsible for delivering a $200 million annual program of highway and airport projects and supervises 370 people. Kim Rice is the region's new preconstruction engineer. Most recently, Kim was chief of the Preliminary Design and Environmental section for the region. In her new capacity, Rice will lead a staff of 200 people responsible for delivering the region's highway and aviation construction documents.
Cook Inlet Region Inc. has hired Bruce F. Anders as general counsel. Before joining CIRI, Anders worked at the State of Alaska Department of Natural Resources since December 2006, as chief of the Oil and Gas Division's Leasing and Permitting/Petroleum System Integrity Section. Anders served as a member of Gov. Sarah Palin's natural gas pipeline team, helping to draft, promote and defend the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA). He oversees all the corporation's litigation, administrative and corporate governance issues.
A. Janelle Pfleiger with Re/Max Properties Inc. Anchorage has earned the Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist designation in recognition of her experience, knowledge and expertise in the luxury home market. Pfleiger has gone through special training and met performance standards in the upper tier market. She has been in real estate since 1980. In 2006 she was awarded Realtor of the Year as well as CRS of the Year and in 2007 she was named YWCA Woman of Achievement.
