WHAT: International Union of Operating Engineers Local 302 will relocate its Anchorage headquarters. The 16,500-square-foot building will house administrative and training offices, said Tony Hansen, who oversees union operations for Southcentral Alaska.

WHY: Operating Engineers Local 302 has outgrown its current space, where it has been located for more than 25 years, said Hansen. "We occupy 7,000 square feet right now," he said. About a dozen employees work in the present building, which was sold to help finance the new one. All of the subcontractors are union labor, Hansen added.
WHEN: This project is scheduled for completion in December.
