Ed Jenkin was named vice president, power delivery for Chugach Electric Association. He will oversee the engineering and operations functions associated with all distribution and transmission activities. Jenkin most recently has served as the director, engineering services division. He started working at Chugach March 1989. He is a registered professional engineer who earned an electrical engineering degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
Software development firm Resource Data Inc. has hired two new employees in Anchorage. John MacKnight is a senior programmer/analyst. John has been developing with Microsoft Technologies since 1997. Prior to joining RDI, John was a senior software engineer for one the nation's largest insurance lead referral Web sites. Christie Cowee was hired as a technical writer. She most recently worked at the Alaska Volcano Observatory. She holds a masters of science in geology and will work at RDI with the Pebble Project Team.
Mark S. Lockwood, senior principal geologist with Shannon & Wilson Inc., Fairbanks, has been nominated as Alaska Section president of the American Institute of Professional Geologists. Founded in 1963, the AIPG is dedicated to promoting geology as a profession and supporting geoscience professionals. Lockwood has been practicing geology in Alaska since 1982. He joined Shannon & Wilson in 1991.
Alaska Pacific University has hired Jennifer Jensen as director of admissions. Jennifer has 16 years of experience as the associate director of admissions at Colorado State University-Pueblo. During her tenure at CSU-Pueblo. Jensen is responsible for directing the admissions efforts of Alaska Pacific University including the recruitment of traditional age and adult students to the university's academic programs.
Ian Dutton, Ph.D., is the new president and CEO of the Alaska SeaLife Center. Dutton has more than 25 years experience in marine science and conservation. He joins the center from The Nature Conservancy, where he served as deputy managing director for the Asia-Pacific region and led science and conservation programs in nine countries. As a researcher, Dutton helped foster innovative approaches to coastal and marine development across Asia and the Pacific.

Joy Journeay is the new executive director of The Alaska Air Carriers Association. Journeay brings 30 years of leadership experience with a background in aviation marketing and contract management. Most recently, Journeay served at Bering Straits Native Corp., supporting its successful expansion into a diversity of federal contracting opportunities.
