NANA Regional Corp. will pay a 2008 dividend of $15.75 per share, Don Sheldon, chairman, announced during the Native corporation's recent annual board meeting in Kotzebue. The dividend will be distributed in November to NANA's more than 12,000 shareholders. For a typical holding of 100 shares, the dividend will be $1,575.

"This is the highest dividend we've distributed," said Marie Greene, company president. NANA owns the huge Red Dog zinc and lead mine, the state's largest mine. Revenue from Red Dog helped account for the record dividend, she said. NANA's other business arms include engineering services, government contracting, oil-field services and hotel operations.

The company's revenue topped $1 billion for the first time last fiscal year, with profits of $39 milion, according to Helvi Sandvik, president of NANA Development Corp.
