Mike Hayhurst was named managing partner of the Anchorage office of KPMG LLP, an audit, tax and advisory firm. In his new role, Hayhurst will be responsible for the strategic direction and growth of KPMG's Anchorage office. He will oversee 100 partners and professionals and continue to have client-service responsibilities on a number of engagements. He succeeds Kathy Porterfield, who was appointed managing partner of KPMG's Seattle office.

Davalen LLC has announced that Palmer resident Kevin Wilmeth has been hired to provide IBM WebSphere Portlet Factory training and consulting services to its worldwide client base. Wilmeth will contribute to the success of Davalen as a courseware developer, mentor, instructor and consultant from his home base in Alaska. He brings significant Portlet Factory and Domino expertise and considerable experience as a course author and technical instructor.

Suzanne Trimble, a certified public accountant offering business appraisal services and with an office in Anchorage, recently became a certified valuation analyst (CVA). The CVA is the premier accreditation for CPAs who are qualified to provide business valuation and litigation consulting services.
