The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce board of directors has appointed Sami Glascott as its next president. Glascott will begin Feb. 17, succeeding Stacy Schubert, who steps down March 2. The president serves as the chamber's chief operating officer and chief of staff, under the supervision of volunteer Board Chair Phil Okeson. Okeson stated that Glascott's experience in financial operations, strategic planning, membership and community relations, as well as public policy development, will position the organization well for a new era of challenges and opportunities for businesses in Anchorage.
Jason Olson recently joined AT&T in Alaska as director of regulatory affairs. He is responsible for all governmental affairs issues on a statewide basis. Jason comes to the Alaska office from AT&T in St. Louis, Mo., where he was the associate director of compliance. He has been with the company for 10 years. Joey Fowkes recently joined AT&T as an account executive for the Signature Markets team. She will be responsible for the oil and gas business accounts on a statewide basis. Joey recently worked for Expert Technologies Corp. as a senior program manager.
Brendan Welsh has joined F. Robert Bell and Associates as a civil engineer in training and land surveyor in training. Welsh earned his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and forest engineering from Oregon State University. Welsh has experience with residential, commercial and public works developments.
