Governor appoints four to state boards
Gov. Sarah Palin has made the following appointments to business-related state boards: • Alaska Workforce Investment Board -- Martin T. Anderson Jr. of Sterling and Mae R. Hank of Point Hope. Anderson owns Alaska Technical, which offers technology training for inspection of pipelines, storage tanks and related oil-field equipment. Hank manages federal housing programs for Ilisagvik College's Office of Community and Workforce Development.
• Board of Agriculture and Conservation -- Anthony T. "Tony" Nakazawa of Eagle River and Stuart M. Davies of North Pole. Nakazawa is an economics professor with the University of Alaska Cooperative Extension Service. Davies is a seed, hay and grain farmer.
