Horn Doctor expands its shop and services
The Horn Doctor Music Store has opened its renovated site at 10th Avenue and Ingra Street and is expanding its retail division, which will operate under the name Alaska Music and Sound, said John Kagerer, owner. The repair shop will retain "The Horn Doctor" name.
The roughly $1 million renovation added 7,500 square feet to the store, allowing it to raise the number and type of instruments it sells and repairs, as well as to expand its offerings, including digital pianos, acoustic and sound equipment, more guitars and other string instruments and pre-school music, he said.
Kagerer started the business in 1984, and in 1988 he moved it to a 1,900-square-foot building at 1000 Ingra St., he said. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The other two meetings are scheduled for two years later: The avionics meeting, with 750 delegates, April 30-May 3, 2012; and the avalanche group, with 900 delegates, Sept. 16-22, 2012. Each of the three groups sent a person on a bureau-sponsored familiarization tour of Anchorage in early March, the bureau said.
