Analytica opens Wasilla center
Analytica, a large provider of drinking water and wastewater testing in Alaska, has a new service center in Wasilla at 1649 W. Parks Highway. Analytica specializes in regulated drinking water and wastewater monitoring, and plans to extend full-service testing and on-site sampling to its customers from Talkeetna to Glennallen and beyond. Established in 1987, Analytica Group also has operations in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau and Thornton, Colo. Robert Moore of Palmer was hired to manage the service center in Wasilla.
CIRI stockholders to get dividend
The board of Anchorage-based Cook Inlet Region Inc. has declared a second-quarter dividend of $8.50 a share to be paid June 30. Stockholders with 100 shares will get $850. CIRI is the regional Native corporation for the Anchorage and Cook Inlet area.
Federal grant to aid Native youths
Cook Inlet Tribal Council Inc. in Anchorage is getting a $628,805 federal grant to help 64 Alaska Native youths who are out of school obtain their GEDs and train for work in the construction industry, the federal Department of Labor said. The Alaska grant was one of 183 totaling $114 million nationwide.
Older Alaskans have training help
The state has received $563,685 in federal stimulus money for job training of unemployed low-income Alaskans who are 55 years or older, the Labor Department said. This money will be added to more than $2.3 million already set aside for the training.
Training opportunities are in health care, child care, education, green jobs, energy efficiency environmental services and other available public service activities, said Rita Bowen, a Labor Department coordinator for the training program.
