• The law firm of Holmes Weddle & Barcott has announced that Jim Reeves has joined the firm. Reeves recently completed three years of service as Anchorage municipal attorney after many years in private practice locally. His experience includes commercial transactions and real estate, civil litigation and appeals, Alaska natural resources and administrative law.
• Scott Bringmann, president of Alcan Electrical & Engineering Inc., was inducted into the industry's prestigious Academy of Electrical Contracting at the recent National Convention of the National Electrical Contractors Association in Seattle. Since its founding in 1968, the Academy has served as the "voice of experience" for NECA and ELECTRI International. Fellows of the Academy are invited to join the organization based on exceptional service to the electrical contracting industry.
• KeyBank has promoted Amanda LeDesma to branch manager at its location on Tongass Avenue in Ketchikan. LeDesma most recently served as assistant manager at the Wasilla branch. She has more than six years' financial services experience and is completing her Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of Alaska Southeast.
• The Alaska Travel Industry Association says Linda Hall has joined it as a membership and advertising manager. Hall oversees increasing ATIA's membership and marketing partnerships throughout the state. She has worked for Alaska Airlines, Aspen Hotels and USTravel.
• USKH Inc. has announced that Steven Kari, P.E., has been selected as the new Surface Transportation Division manager. Kari, an associate of the firm, has been with USKH for 14 years and is a member of the USKH board. Kari is working on designs for the Mountain Air Drive extension and the 100th Avenue extension, as well as an access road for the communities of King Cove and Cold Bay. He recently wrapped up work on the Ninth Avenue reconstruction project.
• The Alaska Association of Legal Administrators announced its board of directors for the 2009-2010 term: President Karen Ponsness of Stoel Rives; President-Elect Jennifer Haldane of Jermain Dunnagan & Owens; Past President Dawn Gray of Richmond & Quinn; Vice President Maureen Hunt of Bankston Gronning O'Hara; Treasurer Jodi Walton of Atkinson Conway & Gagnon Inc.; Secretary Kathy Crocker of Routh Crabtree; and new directors Gillian Havrilla of Russell, Wagg, Gabbert & Budzinski, and Yvonne Robinson of Clapp Peterson Van Flein Tiemessen & Thorsness.
