• Custom software development firm Resource Data Inc. has hired new employees for its Anchorage office: Bixler McClure is a GIS programmer/analyst. McClure is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa where he received a Master of Arts degree in geography. He has experience with ArcGIS and GPS data collection.

Chris Thorn joins the company as a programmer/Analyst. Thorn has more than four years of programming experience. Most recently he worked as an application developer for a global management and technology consulting firm in Hattiesburg, Miss. Robert Nigh is a senior programmer/analyst. Nigh has more than 10 years experience in software lifecycle development and Web development. He specializes in analysis, application interface design, business process modeling, Internet site design, Web/database integration, and enterprise application programming.

• KeyBank has announced the promotion of Jesse Wolf to manager of the Eagle River branch. Previously Wolf served as a relationship manager for the Benson Branch in Anchorage and as assistant manager for the Eagle River branch. Wolf has more than six years' financial services experience.

• Pediatric surgeon Dr. Edward Ford has joined the medical staff at Providence Alaska Medical Center. Ford comes to Alaska from St. John's Regional Healthcare Center in Springfield, Mo., where he had served as chairman of the surgery department and director of women's and children's services. Ford is board certified in pediatric surgery, general surgery and surgical critical care. He is one of only two pediatric surgeons in the state. Ford offers medical care through Pediatric Surgeons of Alaska, located on the Providence Alaska Medical Center campus.

• The Alaska Association of Realtors recently elected their 2010 Officers: Russell Joyce, Prudential Jack White Vista, Wasilla, president; Helen Jarratt, Re/Max Properties, Anchorage, president-elect; Joni Schneider, Heartland Realty, Fairbanks, vice president; Don McKenzie, Re/Max Properties, Anchorage, treasurer; Kathryn Clark, Dynamic Properties, Wasilla, secretary; and Dan Lee, Re/Max Properties, Anchorage, and Amy Krier, Advantage Alaska Realty, Fairbanks, as directors at large.

• Dave Somers, broker and Realtor at Somers and Associates in Fairbanks, is the recipient of the 2009 Realtor of the Year award from the Alaska Association of Realtors. This distinguished award is given annually to the individual who has displayed a strong sense of Realtor spirit, high principles, ethics and good business practices, leadership qualities with the local, state and national association of Realtors, involvement in civic activities and strong business accomplishments.

• CRW Engineering Group has announced that two members of its civil engineering team, Dave Diller, PE, and Micah Schoming, PE, recently received LEED AP certification. The certifications allow CRW to offer Alaska clients sustainable civil engineering design services. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is the U.S. Green Building Council's internationally recognized certification system for green buildings.

Diller has been with CRW for 20 years and serves as a project manager and design engineer.

Schoming has 11 years of Alaska civil engineering design experience. He provides commercial and industrial site design, building layout, storm drainage, site grading, sanitary sewer and utilities design and layout.
