Doyon board approves dividend amounting to $3.68 per share

The Doyon Ltd. board of directors has approve a dividend of $3.68 per share, or $368 per 100 shares, to be distributed to shareholders on Dec. 15. The Fairbanks-based regional Native corporation has 17,500 shareholders, and it has paid dividends for 23 years in a row, the company said. Doyon had $296 million in revenue last year.

Referral network Web site wins excellence award for partnership

AKSourceLink, a referral network Web site for Alaska small-business owners, received an Excellence in Partnership Development award at the University Economic Development Association Summit in San Antonio, Texas, this month.

AkSourceLink is a free service that officially launched last month. Its goal is to link small and emerging business owners in Alaska to local resource partners offering services that help small businesses stay competitive, grow and prosper. Sixteen economic development organizations began the service, with the University of Alaska Center for Economic Development coordinating the launch.

Computer firm changes name to reflect turn to providing services

Alaska Computer Brokers recently changed its name to ACB Solutions. The name was changed to reflect the fact that it has moved from a sales-based business to a technology services provider.

Also, ACB Solutions has been approved as an eligible training provider for the State of Alaska. The company provides training for individuals who qualify for retraining through the State of Alaska Job Center. This includes unemployed individuals who are seeking new career opportunities and those who need training in order to meet job requirements. Two training paths are available through this program: Computer Installation and Repair Technology and Drafting and Design Technology.

Frontier Alaska agrees to buy all stock in Arctic Circle Air Service

HoTH, Inc, an Alaska corporation owned by John Hajdukovich, Mike Hageland and James Tweto, and the parent holding company of Frontier Flying Service, Hageland Aviation Services and Era Aviation, Inc., announced recently an agreement to acquire 100 percent of the common stock of Arctic Circle Air Service Inc.

Arctic Circle's cargo operation will join the in-state air group doing business as Frontier Alaska effective Dec. 1.

"This acquisition strengthens Frontier Alaska's position in the cargo business in the state of Alaska," said company CEO Bob Hajdukovich. "Both charter services, as well as scheduled services, will benefit from the added capacity and flexibility the acquisition will afford. Arctic Circle Air's two Shorts 330 (Sherpa) all-cargo aircraft will complement the existing Frontier Alaska operations and improve the ability to move greater volume and oversized cargo within Alaska."
