A forum on winter natural gas supplies in Southcentral Alaska is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. today at the Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center in downtown Anchorage. The luncheon forum is sponsored by the Alaska Journal of Commerce and the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce. Scheduled panelists include executives with electric companies that burn natural gas in their generators; Enstar Natural Gas Co., which distributes gas for heating to consumers, and Marathon Oil Co., which produces gas in the region.
The discussion is expected to involve the plans in place to avoid gas shortages, and to address a shortage if it occurs.
