The Russian Federation ambassador to the United States, Sergey Ivanovich Kislyak, is scheduled to speak at a Alaska World Affairs Council luncheon at noon Friday in the Anchorage Hilton. Kislyak has worked in the Russian Foreign Ministry since 1977, including stints as ambassador to Belgium, Russian representative to NATO and, from 2003-08, as deputy minister of foreign affairs.
Kislyak will be introduced by the Russian consul general from San Francisco and several other West Coast consul generals, in town for Alaska statehood celebrations this weekend, the World Affairs Council said.
