New mayor wants to hear residents' ideas

Mayor-elect Dan Sullivan has scheduled three forums to hear what Anchorage residents think of city services before he takes office July 1. Sullivan and the transition team he's appointed to study city operations will meet with people in Chugiak/Eagle River, Midtown Anchorage and in South Anchorage.

"The transition must be based on a thorough review of current operations and with input from citizens," Sullivan said in a e-mailed statement Wednesday afternoon. "The next step is to meet with and listen to what our residents have to say about their government."

Here's the schedule:

• Wednesday, June 3 -- Eagle River Lion's Club, 6-8 p.m.

• Thursday, June 4 -- Grant Hall Auditorium, Alaska Pacific University, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

• Monday, June 8 -- ChangePoint Church, 6-8 p.m.
