ARMED: Police post video of the man they think hit two stores.
Clerk Christian De Ocampo sat on a counter at Lucky 7 mart in Midtown Monday when a man in a heavy winter jacket walked through the door.
The man's collar covered his face but De Ocampo didn't think anything of it. It's been cold out, after all.
Then out came the handgun.
"As soon as he showed me the gun ... I didn't even want to look at him," De Ocampo said in a phone interview Wednesday.
Now it's the Anchorage Police who are looking for the man they believe robbed both the Lucky 7 and --- a day before -- In & Out Liquor on Benson Boulevard.
The suspect is described as white and heavyset, roughly 6 feet tall and in his late 30s or 40s. Along with the puffy green nylon jacket, he wore blue jeans and tennis shoes.
Police spokeswoman Anita Shell even posted video of the suspected robber on YouTube, from the In & Out Liquor stickup. In the 48-second clip, the man can be seen walking into the store, then stomping his feet and shaking his fingers, oohing and aahhing about the cold.
He keeps shaking and stomping as someone who appears to be a store employee walks behind the counter. The man then reaches into his jacket and pulls out a gun. He tells the clerk to hurry up and can be seen shoving a wad of bills into the jacket.
De Ocampo described a similar scene at the Lucky 7. He said the robber, who may have had a mustache, carried a handgun that appeared to have a silencer attached. He showed the gun and demanded money.
Police say the man was seen leaving the In & Out Liquor store in a white four-door sedan. They encourage anyone with information about the robberies to call 786-8900.
