FAIRBANKS -- Authorities in Fairbanks have closed a suspected crack house.
The closure came after a raid last week by police and Alaska State Troopers on a Mercier Street home as part of a 14-month investigation.
Authorities say the raid initially was thought to involve marijuana.
Avery Thompson, an investigator with the state Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Enforcement, is not saying how much crack cocaine was seized.
He says drug distribution tools, including digital scales, and a dozen weapons also were seized. He says a small amount of marijuana also was found, but no plants.
Fifty-two-year-old Martin Avery is being held on a felony drug charge. Authorities say a 17-year-old was also implicated.
