FAIRBANKS -- A 20-year-old Fairbanks man has been sentenced to four years in prison for beating a man he claimed had harassed his girlfriend.
Bryant Rees was convicted of felony assault and misdemeanor charges of theft and disorderly conduct at trial.
Authorities say Rees, two other men and Rees' juvenile girlfriend forced their way into the victim's rural home in February.
The victim said he was repeatedly punched, kicked and struck in the back with a baseball bat as he lay on the ground. The group then stole some of his property, including a video game console.
The two other men entered into plea agreements and served jail time.
