The event is co-sponsored by the Alaska Energy Authority and the University of Alaska Fairbanks' Alaska Center for Energy and Power.

"Alaska stands at the threshold of making sweeping changes in the way we heat our homes, schools and facilities, generate our electricity and provide for our transportation," said Steve Haagenson, energy authority executive director.

The event will include sessions focusing on management and economics, current and future technologies, and conservation.
