When: Today through Sept. 3. Gates open at noon on weekdays and 10 a.m. on weekends and Labor Day.

Where: Alaska State Fairgrounds, Palmer

How much: • Daily admission costs $10 for adults, $6 for seniors and ages 6-12, free for 5 and under.

• Three-day pass costs $25 for adults, $15 for seniors and ages 6-12.

• Season pass costs $60 for adults, $40 for seniors and ages 6-12.

• Parking fees include: $5 for cars, $10 for RV, $25 daily premier on-grounds parking. Extra $5 for towed trailers or cars.

• Camping: $10 per day.

Getting there

Driving: The Alaska State Fairgrounds is located at 2075 Glenn Highway in Palmer, 45 miles from Anchorage.

Riding: The Alaska State Fair Train offers round-trip travel from Anchorage to Palmer Friday through Sunday and Sept. 1 and Sept. 2. Departs Anchorage at 1:30 p.m. Friday and returns at midnight. Two Anchorage departures on Saturdays and Sundays: 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and returning at 6 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Tickets: $49 for adults, $45 for seniors, $25 for children 6-12, $20 for 5 and under.
