BREVIG MISSION -- A three-day search for a missing snowmachiner was joined Friday by National Guard and Civil Air Patrol aircraft, which, combined with ground searchers, were unable to locate the missing man, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Archie Adams, 31, left Brevig Mission on Tuesday on his snowmachine, which was pulling a sled, without telling anyone where he was going or why he was leaving, troopers said.
Searchers from Brevig Mission, unable to locate Adams, were joined Thursday by searchers from Shishmaref, Teller and Nome, though an aerial search was not possible because of poor weather and high winds, troopers said.
A break in the weather Friday allowed a National Guard Black Hawk helicopter and a Civil Air Patrol aircraft to join the search, troopers said.
