BUCKLAND -- Lost and out of gas, four villagers traveling by snowmachine in a ground storm Saturday were rescued by troopers 15 miles south of Buckland.
Dennis Katchatag, 33, of Shaktoolik, suffered frostbitten fingers and was taken to Kotzebue for medical treatment.
Evert Henry, 25, of Koyuk, had mild frostbite on his face and the other two travelers -- Merlin Henry, 61, of Koyuk and Clare Swanson, 36, of Koyuk -- reported no injuries.
The four were traveling from Koyuk to Buckland on a pair of snowmachines. They were reported overdue to troopers in Unalakleet, who were aided by search-and-rescue teams from Buckland and Shaktoolik.
