SITKA - An 18-year-old Sitka man has been charged with four counts of murder following the stabbing deaths of four people.A judge today ordered Jason Abbott held on $1 million bail during a court appearance.
He's accused of stabbing four people to death at a home on Tuesday. He also faces another count of attempted murder for injuring a fifth person, who is hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
The names of the victims have not been released.
Police Chief Sheldon Schmitt says all five people were stabbed multiple times, with wounds on their backs and fronts and with defensive wounds.
Police said they had to use a stun gun to subdue Abbott when they arrived at the house. Court papers says Abbott was holding a dagger to his own throat when officers used the stun gun.
