CHITINA -- A man wanted in connection with a killing in North Pole was arrested Friday and is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Thomas Hale, 42, of Chitina, is charged with stabbing a man to death during a fight last Saturday, troopers said. The victim, James Steward, 49, of North Pole, died as a result of a stab wound he suffered after Hale and others "visited" him and got into the fight just before his death, troopers said.
Hale is being held at the Fairbanks Correctional Center on a charge of second-degree murder, troopers said.
