Theft - Shannon McWhirk, 43, of Wasilla at 3:27 p.m. April 10 reported the theft of her 2004 Polaris snow machine from her residence off Glenwood Avenue. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wasilla Police Department at 352-5401 or Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
Hit and run - Police responded at 1:45 a.m. April to the Mug-Shot Saloon, Parks Highway, where Jamie Bennett, 23, of Houston reported his 1999 red Audi had been hit by a vehicle that then left the scene. Damage is estimated at $2,500. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Wasilla police at 352-5401 or Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
Vandalism - Police responded April 12 to storeowner Jay Shearer, who reported his business had been vandalized. Police identified a suspect and forward criminal mischief charges to the district attorney's office.
Burglary - Police responded at 11:40 a.m. April 13 to the Matanuska Towing and Recovery impound yard in Wasilla. Police found that numerous miscellaneous items were taken, including car stereos and bicycles.
Collision - Police responded at 2:54 p.m. April 13 to a three-vehicle collision at Parks Highway and Church Road. Pamela Parrott, 41, of Big Lake, was eastbound on Parks just before Church and did not realize traffic was stopped for a light in front of her. She struck a vehicle driven by Shiloh Moore, 39, of Big Lake. Moore 's vehicle then struck the vehicle in front of him driven by Brian Sommerville, 41, of Wasilla. Parrott was cited for failing to exercise due care to avoid a collision. No injuries were reported.
Collision - Police responded April 14 to Hermon Road and the Parks Highway for a three-vehicle collision. Sam Ledbetter Jr., 57, of Anchorage swerved into the right lane to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of him, which caused him to hit the vehicle in the right lane operated by James Paradis, 60, of Wasilla. When Paradis was hit, his vehicle hit the vehicle in front of him operated by Gerard Harris, 60, of Big Lake. Ledbetter was cited for failing to use due care.
Theft - James Hruby, 43, of Wasilla on April 14 reported an archery black bear target valued at $150 had been stolen during the weekend from Hruby's business at 1301 Winter Ave.
Criminal mischief - Police responded April 14 to a home on Snohomish Avenue, where Hetty Evans, 26, of Wasilla reported that sometime overnight someone slashed two of the tires on her vehicle and shattered her windshield. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the police at 352-5401 or Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
Theft - Police responded at 7:41 p.m. April 14 to Carrs for a report of a stolen purse. Jeanna Roane, 20, of Wasilla said that while shopping at Carrs, she turned her back for just a second and someone stole her purse from the shopping cart.
Disturbance - Police responded at 10:04 p.m. April 14 to a home on Stoneridge Circle for a report of a disturbance. Officers met with Jessica Bongiorno and John Pavlicek. The two were in a dispute over who could occupy the residence. Bongiorno agreed to leave and stay with a friend until Pavlicek moved out. They requested that police keep a computer hard drive in safe keeping until they could determine ownership. The hard drive unit was placed into evidence at the Wasilla Police Department for safekeeping.
