KENAI PENINSULA -- Alaska State Troopers and local police on the Kenai Peninsula plan to ramp up traffic enforcement efforts this weekend as fishing and tourism begin to draw traffic south.
The effort, scheduled today through Sunday, will include aerial surveillance to catch speeders, drunken drivers and any other type of traffic or equipment violation, troopers said. Targeted areas will include the Seward and Sterling highways, they said.
Increased traffic patrols will be repeated sporadically over the summer, as traffic increases, troopers said.
