Arnold Jay Holmberg, 18, is accused of trying to take the beer when he entered a Galena home early Saturday at 4 a.m. and again at 6 a.m., Police Chief John Millan said.

A girl in the home awoke around 6 o'clock to find Holmberg peering into her bedroom, Millan said. The suspect dropped the beer and fled on foot before the girl could tell her mother, he said.

A 20-year-old woman in the home also identified Holmberg, saying she had seen and confronted him in a hallway a few hours earlier, Millan said.

Holmberg was booked at the Fairbanks Correctional Center in lieu of $3,000 bail. Additional charges could be pending, Millan said.
