A tour boat struck an iceberg in Portage Lake this afternoon, jolting passengers and leaving as many as 10 with minor injuries, according to Alaska State Troopers.

The vessel struck the iceberg after a tourist reported spotting a bear and the captain swung the vessel around for passengers to get a better look, troopers spokeswoman Beth Ispen said.
The jolt apparently did not significantly damage the MV Ptarmigan, operated by Portage Glacier Tours, she said.
Two people were reported to have fallen during the crash, with one hitting her head on a rail, she said. The rest appeared to have suffered minor bumps and bruises.
The crash took place at about 4 p.m. and troopers along with medical personnel from Girdwood were still en route to the scene, she said. It was unclear whether the passengers would be transported and hospitalized, she said.
Troopers have notified the Coast Guard, which will likely investigate, Ipsen said.
