Anchorage police arrested a 23-year-old man Friday and charged him with attempted murder and arson.
Andy Garay is accused of setting a Fairview six-unit apartment on fire Wednesday as an act of revenge against his former roommates.
A hotel worker at the downtown Ramada Inn saw the wanted man in line for his free continental breakfast around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning, said police spokesman Lt. Paul Honeman. Garay had been staying at the hotel.
Garay was arrested and taken to the Anchorage jail.
"He'll have lunch and dinner on the state today," Honeman said.
Two people were forced to jump from their third-story window Wednesday morning when their apartment went up in flames. The victims suffered smoke inhalation and minor injuries from their falls. The building was on East Ninth Avenue, near Juneau Street.
After he was arrested, Garay told police he was mad at his former roommates but didn't explain why, Honeman said.
