FAIRBANKS - Officials in Fort Yukon have released the identity of a man killed in a house fire.

Officials say the victim was 29-year-old Michael Jonas.
Lt. Jeremy Fernandes of the Fort Yukon Department of Public Safety says Jonas was asleep in a rental house when the fire started early the morning of July 2.
Fernandes says no one else was in the house at the time of the fire, which is believed to have begun as a result of poor wiring.
Fernandes drove the fire truck to the scene and fought the blaze by himself for about 10 minutes before being joined by volunteers.
He says four youths tried to get Jonas out of the house, but the intensity of the flames kept them at bay.
