HONOLULU - The Air Force says six F-22A Raptors will deploy from Anchorage to Guam for more than a month starting this week.

The military's most advanced fighter jets will be participating in an exercise called Jungle Shield and conduct additional training while at Guam's Andersen Air Force Base.
It is the first F-22 deployment to the Western Pacific since early last year when a dozen Raptors flew to the southern Japanese island of Okinawa for exercises with Japan's air force.
The Air Force says Jungle Shield will train airmen to operate from Guam. It will also train command staff in Hawaii to work with the planes while they are in Guam.
The Raptors are based at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage.
