An Anchorage man has been found guilty of murdering his friend.
According to prosecutors, Todd Tix went to the residence of 52-year-old Terry Tumbleson with a loaded handgun last year and shot his friend three times.
Tix then fled the scene and was apprehended two days later by state troopers outside Talkeetna, where he was found hiding under a tree.
Tix told the jury he had been using methamphetamine since 2002.
After the shooting, he called the FBI and Anchorage television stations and told them he had killed Tumbleson over drug activity.
Tix will be sentenced on Dec. 15.
