INCIDENTS
Burglary, theft - On Aug. 20 at 8:45 p.m., troopers responded to a burglary at Mile 79 of the Glenn Highway in Chickaloon. Thieves entered through the front door. Several items, including a firearm and tools were taken from the residence. The vehicles in the yard were damaged. The stolen items are worth approximately $1,500. Damage to the vehicles was estimated at $2,200.
Death investigation - On Aug. 20 at 8:30 p.m., troopers responded to the death of Joaquin Alexander Bendz, 39, on Knox Road in Wasilla. No foul play is suspected. Next of kin have been notified.
Collision - On Aug. 21 at 6:05 a.m., troopers and Mat-Su Borough EMS responded to a pickup-motorcycle collion on South Inner Springer Loop in Palmer. Littleton F. Buxton, 61, of Wasilla failed to yield to Lori B. Pittman, 42, of Palmer. Pittman, on the motorcycle, received minor injuries in the collision and was treated and released by EMS at the scene. Buxton was cited for failure to yield and failure to provide proof of insurance.
Death investigation - On Aug. 22 at 11 p.m., troopers responded to the death of Donald L. Cox, 58, at his home in Palmer. Next of kin was on scene. No foul play is suspected.
Wreck - On Aug. 22 at 1:05 p.m., troopers responded to Mile 4 of Knik Goose Bay Road where Ceasar Barrera, 20, of Wasilla lost control of his car and hit a tree and two telephone poles. The accident knocked a power line to the ground across Knik Goose Bay Road blocking the road for approximately an hour while MEA cleared the roadway. Barrera was taken to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center and later released.
BURGLARY - On Aug. 21 at 11:30 p.m., troopers responded to a burglary of a residence off Lynn Drive in Wasilla. Someone forced entry into the home, causing damages estimated at $100. No items were taken.
Burglary, theft, criminal mischief - On Aug. 23 at 10:20 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on Fairview Loop Road near Patty Drive in Wasilla, for a reported burglary. Thieves stole several items including prescription medication, gold coins and a walrus skull with tusks. A rear door to the home was forced open and a locked bedroom door was also forced open.
Burglary, theft - On Aug. 21 at 11:17 p.m., Michael Baxted, 58, of Anchorage, told troopers that sometime within the previous three weeks someone had burglarized his cabin on Purington Parkway in Big Lake. Someone stole various tools, a catamaran raft, boat trailer, a planer and a plastic 300-gallon water tank.
Death investigation - On Aug. 24 at 10:33 p.m., troopers responded to the death of Robert P. Maze, 70, at his Big Lake home. Next of kin was on scene. No foul play is expected.
Theft - On Aug. 26 at 5 p.m., troopers received a report of a theft of 10-foot plastic boat valued at $2,000 from a residence at Rainbow Lake off Pittman Road near Wasilla.
Burglary, criminal mischief, theft - On Aug. 26 at 3:35 p.m., troopers received a report of a burglary at a residence on Satisfied Drive near Wasilla. A garage door to the home was opened by force. A handgun and a 46-inch TV valued at $2,000 were stolen.
Burglary, theft - On Aug. 26 at 4:30 p.m., troopers responded to a burglary of a home off South Willow Lane in Wasilla. The front door was forced open and about $400 in household items were taken. Damage to the door was estimated at $50.
Burglary, theft - On Aug. 26 at 6 p.m., a homeowner reported a burglary at a residence on West Meadowood Drive in Big Lake. About $5,000 worth of items were taken.
Burglary, theft - On Aug. 26 at 3:15 p.m., a homeowner reported a burglary at a residence on West Sunridge Circle in Wasilla. About $5,000 worth of items were taken.
Burglary, theft - On Aug. 26 at 11 p.m., a homeowner reported a burglary at a residence on West Dewberry in Wasilla. About $2,000 worth of items were taken.
Burglary - On Aug. 26 at 7:45 p.m., troopers responded to a burglary of a residence located off North Pittman Road in Wasilla. Someone forced entry to the home and a separate garage by prying open two doors, resulting in damage of about $200. No items were taken.
Vehicle theft - On Aug. 26 at 3 p.m., troopers received a report of the theft of a blue 1982 Ford F150 pickup, Alaska license plate 1344BK, that was parked near property at Sandy Nook Circle in Wasilla.
Burglary, theft - On Aug. 27 at 3:25 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a burglary at a residence on Johnson Road near Big Lake. Thieves entered the back door of the residence and stole numerous electronics and electronic accessories valued at $4,500.
Burglary, criminal mischief - On Aug. 26 at 3:40 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a burglary at a residence on Rojon Circle near Wasilla. Someone forced entry to the residence and rummaged through it. Damage to the front door is estimated at $200. No items were reported to be missing.

NCIDENTS
Theft - On Aug. 16, at 9:52 a.m., Jeffrey Parsons, 57, of Wasilla reported that someone stole eight five-gallon plastic containers of gas from his yard. The loss was estimated at $250
Collision - On Aug. 16 at 5:40 p.m., police responded to a two-car collision at the Parks Highway and Weber Street. Susanne Ace, 44, of Wasilla rear-ended a vehicle driven by Tabetha Lemley, 21, of Wasilla. Ace was cited for failing to exercise due care.
Theft - On Aug. 21, at 6:55 a.m., Tyson Small, 32, of Wasilla, reported items had been stolen from his vehicle parked at his home on Carpenter Circle. Among the stolen items was a .44 magnum Smith & Wesson pistol. Later, some items were found on the ground nearby in the neighborhood. The next day, the pistol was recovered, but other personal items still remain missing.
Theft - On Aug. 21 at 6:52 p.m., police received a call from David Inman of Wasilla that his JVC Aviad stereo had been stolen out of his 1997 Grand Am that was parked in front of his residence on Hoka Hay Circle.
Theft - On Aug. 21 at 6:55 p.m., police received a call from a Wasilla juvenile reporting that his football gear, backpack and school books had been stolen near Wasilla High School. The juvenile later found his school books and some of his property burned in a baseball dug-out next to the school.
Wreck - On Aug. 21 at 6:43 p.m., police responded to an automobile accident on Bogard Road at Peck Street. Gregory James, 51, of Palmer attempted to retrieve a dropped cell phone, causing him to drive into the ditch. James struck a light pole damaging his car and the light pole. James was not injured but was cited for negligent driving.
Death investigation - On Aug. 28, at 6:54 a.m., Elfriede Davis, 76 of Wasilla, died in her residence at the Senior Center. She was found deceased and no foul play was suspected.

Theft - On Aug. 13, Aurora E. Pease, 24, of Palmer reported the theft of $2,000 in possessions from a locked storage unit in Palmer.
Collision - On Aug. 16, police responded to the intersection of Evergreen Avenue and Ellen Street for report of a vehicle collision involving, Jeremiah David Campbell, 27, of Wasilla and Misty Young Hudson, 26, of Thomson, Ga., Campbell was cited for following too close and proof of insurance requirements. Hudson was taken to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for head and neck injuries.
Theft - On Aug. 16, Charles F. Prokosch, 49, of Palmer, reported that his green Huffy bicycle was taken from the bike rack at 307 S. Chugach.
Burglary - On Aug. 18, police were contacted concerning the burglary of the Pass Office of the Alaska State Fairgrounds. Damage was done to two doors and cash was stolen from an office drawer
Pedestrian injured - On Aug. 19, police responded to the entrance of Alaska USA Credit Union where Logan Grothe, 18, was hit by a car driven by Julene A. Mcpheters, 45, of Palmer. Grothe was taken to Mat-Su Regional Health Center to be checked for injuries.
Burglary - On Aug. 20, Dana K. Bachner, 53, of Wasilla, reported the New Harvest Church in Palmer had been broken into during the previous weekend. About $2,000 in property was stolen.
Counterfeit money - On Aug. 22, police received a report from the Alaska State Fair that an adult male attempted to pass counterfeit money. When the male was confronted by fair employees, he left the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
