A fatal traffic accident in downtown Anchorage has closed the intersection of Ingra Street and 6th Avenue.Police Det. Rick Steiding said a Buick sedan containing two women slammed into the back of a semi-trailer truck stopped for a red light on Ingra at 6th. The passenger in the car was killed; the driver was taken to a hospital.

Steiding said the driver's medical condition may have been a factor in the accident.
The driver was wearing her seatbelt, he said. The passenger was not.
The intersection remained closed at 1 p.m.
