FAIRBANKS -- A woman convicted of receiving a 17 1/2-pound shipment of cocaine has been sentenced in federal court to more than 7 1/2 years in prison, the U.S. attorney's office said Monday.
Allyse Sharae Daniels, 37, got 92 months in prison for conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors say that the package she received last November came from California and was part of an ongoing scheme to import and sell cocaine in the Fairbanks area. The cocaine had a street value of roughly $250,000, prosecutors said.
A co-defendant in the case, Willie F. Johnson, 39, was sentenced in August to three years and 10 months in prison for his role in the conspiracy, prosecutors said.
