Planned Friday morning outage will affect South Anchorage areas

Chugach Electric Association is planning a power outage in a few Anchorage neighborhoods early Friday morning to enable repairs on a distribution line.

The outage is scheduled to begin about 1 a.m. and last until 5 a.m., according to a release from the association. About 300 customers in the Oceanview, Oceanview North, Flying Crown and Poggas subdivisions will be affected. The area that will be without power is west of the Old Seward Highway, south of Lighthouse Court and east of Johns Road, according to the release.

The outage will be rescheduled if the temperature is forecast to drop below 10 degrees.
