Anchorage groups and organizations will be hosting a number of Thanksgiving dinners on Thursday. There is no charge, but donations of food and/or money are welcome. The events include:
• Bean's Cafe Thanksgiving dinner will be held 1-3 p.m. at 1101 E. Third Ave. For more information, call 274-9595.
• Salvation Army Thanksgiving dinner will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Central Middle School, 1405 E St. Donations of pies, Cool-Whip, dinner rolls and butter, milk and turkeys may be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 143 E. Ninth Ave. today and Wednesday. For more information, call 276-2515 or visit www.salvationarmy.org/alaska.
• University of Alaska Anchorage Thanksgiving Day feast will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Lee Gorsuch Commons (aka UAA Commons). It is sponsored by the Union of Students University of Alaska Anchorage (USUAA) and Seawolf Dining Services. The public is welcome. For more information, call 786-1205 or visit www.uaa.alaska.edu.
