The annual Guns 'n' Hoses hockey game between the Anchorage Fire Department and the Anchorage Police Department will be played Sunday at Sullivan Arena.
Currently firefighters lead police, having won six of the eight games played in the holiday rivalry.
The competition raises money for local charities and includes entertainment for the family in addition to the hockey game. Events this year include demonstrations by firefighters and the police SWAT and K-9 teams. Buddy Bear and Sparky will be giving out goodies to kids, and after the game, the audience will have an opportunity to skate with the players.
Last year's event raised $31,000, according to police spokeswoman Anita Shell. This year's proceeds will go to the American Diabetes Association.
The game starts at 4 p.m. Doors open at 3 p.m. Tickets are $7 each or $25 for a family pass good for up to six people.
Tickets are available at the door, or ahead of time at any fire station, at APD, or by calling the American Diabetes Association.
