A bulldog named Tank saved a teenager from a kidnapper in Soldotna on Wednesday evening, according to the Alaska State Troopers.
A girl, 15, was walking the dog on a bike trail near the Spur Highway when a man got out of an older-model Chevrolet extended-cab pickup, grabbed her by the arm and tried to force her inside the truck. Tank bit the man on the arm. The dog and the girl made it home unharmed. The girl has not been identified.
"The dog's the hero," said Greg Wilkinson, trooper spokesman.
The man was described as being in his early 30s, close to 6 feet tall, with a dark complexion, no beard, very short dark hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue or black T-shirt.
