KIANA -- The body of a man who drowned near Kiana has been recovered from the water, Alaska State Troopers said Thursday.
Robert Jackson, 43, of Kiana, was last seen with other residents on a sandbar July 16 between 10 and 11 p.m., troopers said. His body was recovered from a deep section of water near the sandbar several hours later, troopers said.
The state medical examiner was planning to conduct an autopsy, troopers said. Alcohol was a factor, they said.
