Dive Alaska is holding a "dive-a-thon" in memory of Matthew Myers, the Alaska SeaLife Center scientist who died last month on a dive near Seward.
The event will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.Oct. 20 at Smitty's Cove in Whittier.
Participants need to be certified divers and must sign up in advance at Dive Alaska. They will be taking pledges that will be deposited into a memorial fund for Myers' family.
