JUNEAU -- A 27-foot vessel that was taking on water in Admiralty Cove at about noon Monday was safely towed to North Douglas Harbor, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The Even Keel had seven people aboard when it issued a distress call, the Coast Guard said. None was injured.

The Coast Guard deployed two boats as well as a Jayhawk helicopter to the scene, where they were joined by three Good Samaritan vessels responding to an Urgent Marine Information broadcast.

A Coast Guard vessel towed the vessel to safety.
