Real ID is an effort by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to implement a national identification card.

It would require that every citizen carry a U.S. government-approved card to board a plane or enter a federal facility.

Its implementation has been delayed amid concerns from states about the cost, threats to privacy and the potential for people's personal information to be infiltrated.

States would be required to share their information databases with each other and the federal government.

Senate Bill 202 passed the House 39-0 Thursday. It goes to the governor next.
