Disclosures show he was paid by Landon specifically to lobby on Young’s transportation bill. Young obtained a $10 million earmark for a study of a Florida interstate interchange that promised to benefit Aronoff, who had raised money for Young. Young said he obtained the earmark at the request of local residents and Florida Gulf Coast University, which Alcalde also represented.
