Alaska Archives Earns NAID Certification for Data Destruction, Paper Shredding

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA, Jan. 11, 2013 – Alaska Archives, the state’s most reputable provider of information management and data destruction services, announces that they have achieved National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) AAA certification for both mobile and plant-based operations.
The NAID certification for Alaska Archives is endorsed for paper and printed media, computer hard drives and non-paper media destruction.

NAID is the non-profit watchdog organization for the secure data destruction services industry. Certification is achieved and maintained through ongoing announced and unannounced audits of service operations at certified facilities and in the field. Audits are conducted by trained, independent auditors, all of whom are accredited by ASIS International as Certified Protection Professionals.
“Many industries have requirements they must follow when selecting service providers who gain access to their customer information,” said Alaska Archives General Manager Jon Kaplan.

“Our NAID certification demonstrates to these customers that we are trained and equipped to meet their rigorous security needs,” he said.
