The victims of a fire that killed three people in the Southwest Alaska village of Nunam Iqua in June have been identified as an 8-year-old boy and two adult men.

Cyprian Ignatius, 8, Joseph Ignatius, 43, and Edward Murphy, 25, were all living at the home where the fire broke out at 6 a.m. on June 28, troopers said.

Fire officials said a total of 14 people were in the house at the time of the fire, which neighbors tried to fight with buckets and hoses.

Two others were hospitalized in Anchorage for smoke inhalation.

A state fire marshal spend several days in the village investigating the fire. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
