Brad Erickson of KFAT said that the "Ice Ice Baby" star happened to have time in between shooting engagements to perform and host the event. The artist who was born Robert Van Winkle is currently starring in the reality TV show "Vanilla Ice Goes Amish" on the DIY network.

Erickson said the event will also have a DJ, prom photos, and other traditional fare like the election of prom queen and king. He said the idea of the second chance prom is to give people a chance to "redo your prom, relive your prom, or just get to go to it."
